ABOUT
The ARVA application was designed for use by mountain professionals, winter sports enthusiasts and mountain enthusiasts. Its aim is to allow its users to enjoy their mountain outings in complete safety thanks to different functionalities: real-time avalanche bulletins, configuration of avalanche detectors (DVA), interactive training and complete checklists to prepare for exits. This project allowed me to explore all aspects of developing a project: design, development, production and finally maintenance. While working in close collaboration with other core businesses while following an agile method.
ROLE
Within this project I was in charge of several tasks: Development of the iOS mobile application with Swift and SwiftUI. Development of an administration backend in VueJS. Firebase database and cloud infrastructure management. The most important task was to develop, structure and standardize the retrieval of avalanche bulletins from around ten different countries via different APIs such as Météo France, SLF, etc. It was also my first extensive experience on iOS and Swift with another challenge consisting of using Bluetooth Low Energy for communication with avalanche detectors.
